A Virtual Admission Interview with MBBS Applicants

A video interview of international student admission of 2020 MBBS program was held in Zhejiang University School of Medicine on May 25. Applicants from France, Australia, Thailand, Indonesia, Iran, Sri Lanka, South Korea, Philippines, and Pakistan, including the first foreign student who is from the 2+4 dual degree cooperative program between Zhejiang University and Macau University, participated in this video interview.

 

To make a more comprehensive evaluation of the applicants, it is the first time to initiate video interview in admission process since the MBBS Program established in 2006.

As a significant part of the admission of international students for MBBS, the video interview was designed to further test the applicants’ comprehensive qualities such as English communication skills, Chinese proficiency, reaction capability, learning motivation, and personal preference. Also, video interview will become one of the important approaches to enroll medical candidates with competency.” Professor XU Xiao, Associate Dean for Education said.  

 

Consisted of experts from affiliated hospitals and Office of Education, ZUSM, the interview panel plays a positive role in the admission of international students as well as communication, sparking ideas made the interview a better course in encountering all-around minds.


Medical Bachelor & Bachelor of Surgery Program (MBBS), Zhejiang University School of Medicine was first launched in 2006, as one of the 45 Universities for international medical students enrollment by Ministry of Education, PR. China. With innovative courses of high quality, the program aims to help students acquire an extensive medical knowledge while laying solid foundation for further study. Students are required to complete three years of pre-clinical course plus three years of clinical practice.

 

Up to now, there are more than 1400 students from 53 countries enrolled in this program, most of which are being physicians, doctors at worldwide after their graduation. Recognized by multiple medical council made it possible and flexible to conduct medicine when graduate.
