Lizhong Du is the head of neonatal service, and professor of pediatrics at the Zhejiang University School of Medicine, China. He has also been the Chairman of Chinese Neonatal Society since 2007. He was graduated from medical school in 1982 and got his PhD in 1990. As a neonatologist, he has been working in the area of neonatal intensive care since 1984. Since 1985, he has been trained in United States (sponsored by Project HOPE) and France for advanced neonatal care. His research has focused on the management of neonatal respiratory failure, neonatal jaundice and other critical problems of the newborn. He has published over 40 peer-reviewed international papers. His funding includes three Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC) grants. He is member of Societies for Pediatric Research (SPR) (USA) and associate editor of BMC Pediatrics.
