Profile

Dr. Wei Gong is currently a professor in the Institute of Neurobiology, Zhejiang University School of Medicine. Dr. Gong received her Bachelor and Master degree from Zhejiang University in 2002 and 2006, respectively. She then went to Singapore, where she earned her Ph. D in Bioengineering, under the supervion of Prof. Colin Sheppard, who is the father of Confocal Microscopy, from the National University of Singapore. After that, she continued her research on bioimaging in Singapre-MIT alliance and HHMI. Since 2014, she came back to China and has become a Professor of Neuroscience, Zhejiang University School of Basic Medicine. Dr. Gong's current research focus on the structure and function of Neural Circuits, neurodegenerative diseases including Alzheimer's disease and Parkinson, early cancer diagnosis with fluorescence, bioimaging and biophotonics with light microscopy such as confocal, 2-photon microscopy etc.Publications:1.
