Main academic achievements and contributions :
My specializations are pediatric gastrointestinal disease，especially functional gastrointestinal disorders and gastrointestinal motility diseases. I have specialized in the technique of gastroscopy and colonic endoscopy, and the therapy by endoscopy, such as extirpate of colonic polyp, extraction of digestive foreign body. We investigated the mechanisms of gastroesophageal reflux diseases and its relationship to respiratory diseases by 24h esophageal pH monitoring, Bilitec 2000 bilirubin monitoring and esophageal motility. More than 5000 cases of esophageal pH monitoring were performed in our hospital till now. We also conducted the anorectal manometry and biofeedback therapy in children with functional constipation. Other fields were also interested to me, such as the relationship between the infection of helicobacter pylori and chronic gastritis in children, the role of bile and acid reflux in the development of in children with reflux esophagitis, the mechanisms of reflux and anti-reflux by surgery in children with hiatal hernia. The vascular endothelium plays a critical role in initiation and modulation of tissue inflammation through expression of surface proteins and secretion of soluble mediators. We also investigated the role of the cytokines, chemokines and adhesion molecules expressed in human microvascular endothelial cells in regulating recruitment of leukocytes to inflammation sites and the signaling transduction pathway of oxidative stress. I have published 65 papers since current professional title, 17 of them were printed in the first-class journals in China, and 9 printed in SCI journals. Our two research projects were awarded the third prize of Science Technical Progress Zhejiang Province by Zhejiang Provincial Government. I am the secretary of the Subspecialty Group of Gastroenterology, Society of Pediatrics, Chineses Medical Association. I am the member of editorial board of six pediatric journals such as J Clin Pediatr, Chin J Practic Pediatr, and also the reviewer of Chin J Pediatr. Our works are helpful to elevate the levels of study on the pediatric gastrointestinal diseases in China.
