Profile

Dr. Yanming Liu is the vice director of the department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery of 2nd Affiliated Hospital, Zhejiang University School of Medicine. He is expert on oral and maxillofacial surgery, especially on fields of oral and maxillofacial oncology, trauma, reconstructive surgery and oral implantology.
He graduated from Zhejiang Medical University and was awarded PhD by Zhejiang University, China. Supported by the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD), he received clinical training and researched at the Center of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, Christian-Albrechts-Universität, Kiel, Germany from August 2005 to September 2007, under the supervision of Prof. J. Wiltfang and Prof. H. Terheyden. His research in Germany mainly focused on tissue engineering and oral implantology. As the co-applier, one of his projects gained financial support from DFG (German Research Foundation).
Studies of Dr. Liu involve multiple aspects of oral and maxillofacial surgery but mainly concentrate on the basic and clinical study of oral and maxillofacial oncology, reconstructive surgery, tissue engineering and oral implantology. Up to date his projects gained financial support from National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC) and Technological Project Fund of Zhejiang Province. Besides, he is working or had worked as co-investigator in five other projects supported by Zhejiang Provincial Foundation of Science and other funds. He has published more than ten papers as the first author in academic journals like Clinical Oral Implant Research and International Journal of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery.Up to date he has been awarded Prize of Science and Technology Advances of Zhejiang Province for three times as the primary co-investigator.
