Description: Professor Huahao Shen graduated from Zhejiang University School of Medicine with M.D. degree, did research work respectively at West Virginia University in USA and McMaster University in Canada, and finished post-doctoral training at Mayo Clinic in USA, participating in a number of NIH and MRC research projects. At present, Professor Shen holds the position of associate dean, Zhejiang University School of Medicine, director, Zhejiang University Institute of Respiratory Diseases and chief, Department of Respiratory Medicine in the Second Affiliated Hospital of Zhejiang University School of Medicine. Dr. Shen also comes to the honors of Professor of Changjiang Scholars Program, Ministry of Education of China, winner of National Natural Science Foundation of China for Distinguished Young Scholars. Prof. Shen is the adjunct professor of University of Rochester, a visiting scientist of Mayo Clinic in USA as well. And Professor Shen has been the standing committee member of Chinese Thoracic Society and Chairman of respiratory branch of Zhejiang Medical Association. Dr. Shen has currently been appointed as assocate editor of Therapeutic Advance in Respiratory Disease, editorial board member or managing editor of more than 10 Chinese journals, such as Chinese Journal of Tuberculosis and Respiratory Diseases and Chinese Journal of Emergency Medicine over the last decade. Dr. Shen has undertaken more than 20 national and provincial research projects, including the National Seventh Five-Year Plan, the National Tenth Five-Year Plan, the country “11th Five-Year Plan” , National Basic research project (973), 863, National Natural Science Foundation of China, which involve asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, respiratory infection diseases and clinical trials in respiratory drugs and antibiotics. Professor Shen won several second and third prizes of provincial scientific and technological progress, and published over 200 papers, including more than 50 research papers in peer-reviewed journals such as J Immunol, PNAS, Am J Respir Crit Care Med, Allergy, Chest, Eur J Repir, Am J Resp Cell Mol Biol, Respiratory Research, BBRC and so on.
