RESEARCH EXPERIENCE

1996 to 1999: During my master’s course, I engaged in the research of my advisor Prof. Huang’s project (a National Natural Science Foundation of China 39870339):” Study on the mutation and expression of hTRF1 in acute leukemia cells”. Under the directions of Prof. Chen Saijuan of Shanghai Institute of Hematology, RUIJIN Hospital, I completed the mutation detection of whole 10 exons of hTRF1 in normal and acute leukemia samples and found several genome variants. I also investigated the expressions of hTRF1, together with some other telomere binding proteins such as TRF2, TANK1, TANK2 and pinx1, in leukemia cell lines cells, leukemia samples and gastric cancer samples, and obtained some new findings, papers were published on J Zhejiang Univ Sci B and Blood as abstracts.
1999 to 2003: With the findings, I assisted with my advisor prof. Huang for the
application of a new project named “Study the network of cell cycle
regulation” and obtained the financial assistance by
The National Basic Research Program of China (973 program
2002CB713700). The aim of our study is to clarify the mechanism of
telomere binding proteins in their regulation with cell proliferation and
differentiation and to find new regulators. I am the main member of
the research group. Under the directions of Prof. Yao Xuebiao of
University of Science and Technology of China in his LCD Lab, I studied the expression of telomeric proteins and their probable regulation of telomerase during the differentiation of all-trans-retinoic
acid–responsive and –resistant acute promyelocytic leukemia cells,
the paper is published on Int J Hematol.
2003 to present: Collaborated with my colleagues, I studied on the regulation of
telomere binding proteins on human mesenchymal stem
cells(hMSCs) and found PML may play some special roles on the
proliferation or differentiation of hMSCs. Based on these findings, I
applied a project of National Natural Science Foundation of China
named” Study on the mechanism of PML on the regulation of
proliferation and differentiation of hMSCs” (30600256). Now, I am
still working on this project.
