Profile

Dr. Liang Wang is independent group leader and principle investigator at Institute of Neuroscience of Zhejiang University. Dr. Wang studied clinical medicine as an undergraduate at Binzhou medical college, and neuroscience as a master student at Tongji medical school of Huazhong university of science and technology. In 2003, he joined Prof. Wood Yee Chan’s laboratory at Chinese university of Hong Kong as a PhD student and obtained PhD degree in 2006. After graduation, Dr. Wang worked as research associate in Prof. Chan’s laboratory for one more year to finish his work. Then he moved to Dr. Till Marquardt’s laboratory at European Neuroscience Institute-Göttingen (ENI-G, Germany) to continue his scientific research as postdoctoral fellow. In 2015, Dr. Wang joined Institute of Neuroscience of Zhejiang University as a full professor. The goal of Dr. Wang’s laboratory is to understand the molecular mechanisms underlying development of the peripheral nervous system (PNS), with special focus on the signaling involved in axon-axon and axon-glia interactions. The long-term goal of Dr. Wang’s laboratory is to provide informative scientific basis for clinical treatment of PNS relevant diseases.
