Dr. Yan introduced into and developed several anesthetic and pain management techniques, such as deliberated hypotension, blood conservation and nerve blocking in her department, and she acquired some original opinions and experiences in cardiovascular, geriatric and critical patient anesthesia. Dr. Yan was funded by a project supported by the National Natural Science Foundation of China,2 projects from the Science and technology Department of Zhejiang Province,and several projects from the Health or Education Bureau. She published more than 20 scientific papers.
