Prof Yu is mainly engaged in the research on the surveillance of bacterial resistance, the mechanism of bacterial resistance and the treatment of the infections caused by multi-resistant bacteria. His work is supported by the grants from 973 projects, 863 projects, and the National Nature Science Foundations of China (NNSF). He won the second national prize for progress in science and technology in 2007and got the first and the second prize for progress in science and technology of Zhejiang province in 2003 and 2000.
