Jianying Zhou, professor, chief physician and doctoral supervisor, work in The First affiliated hospital and is the director of respiratory department. As the member of Respiratory and tuberculosis branch of Chinese Medical Association, the vice-director of Respiratory branch of Zhejiang Medical Association, the vice-director of Lung Cancer branch of Zhejiang Anticancer Association, the vice-director of Institute of Respiration, Zhejiang University and the director of Respiratory branch of Clinical pharmacological research of The First affiliated hospital, Professor Zhou took the lead in the diagnosis and therapy of respiratory diseases. She is the editor and reviewer of Chinese Journal of Clinical Infectious Diseases, Chinese Journal of Respiratory and Critical Care Medicine, Chinese Journal of laboratory medicine and Zhejiang Medicine and was awarded Women of China and Chinese physician Prize.
Professor Zhou has engaged in clinical, teaching and scientific research for nearly 30 years and is expert in the diagnosis and therapy of difficult and critical respiratory diseases and endoscope technique. She took the lead in the pathogenic diagnosis of severe respiratory infection and mechanism study of bacteria resistance. She and her coworkers firstly carried out the studies on the mechanism of carbapenems-resistant pseudomonas aeruginosa and new drugs aiming at severe pulmonary infection. In the diagnosis and therapy of lung cancer, she developed the early screening and diagnosis of lung cancer and new drugs research for chemotherapy and biological target therapy. As project leader, Professor Zhou has taken charge of the projects of National Natural Science Foundation of China and Nature Science Foundation of Zhejiang Province, the key project of Zhejiang Science and Technology Department and the project of Zhejiang Health and Education Department for 5 years. She was awarded second prize of Zhejiang scientific and technological progress twice, first prize of science and technology innovation twice, second prize once (award by Zhejiang health department), second prize of Zhejiang University teaching award once. The Study titled the role of cell adhesion molecules and Fas in the invasion and metastasis of lung cancer focused on the adhesion and the expression of adhesive molecules between different metastatic lung cancer cells. In order to provide the evidences for screening and evaluating the effectiveness of the anti-tumor drugs, they established the model of hematogenous metastasis of lung cancer cells in vitro to explore the mechanisms behind it. The projects ongoing including the key project of Zhejiang Science and Technology Department that the involvement of DCs in the pathogenesis of COPD and DC-based immunotherapy for COPD and the project of WuJieping Foundation that the expression of insulin-like growth factor binding protein-3,-4 in the advanced non-small cell lung cancer cells resistant to gefitinib.
Professor Zhou has published 30 papers, 10 papers covered by SCI, co-compiled 7 literary work and edited national audio-visual materials including primary bronchogenic carcinoma and bronchoscopy. Up to now, there are 30 Masters, 5 Doctors and 1 post-doctor graduated and 5 Doctors and 9 Masters in reading. Moreover, the national continue education class on the Progression in the diagnosis and treatment of pulmonary disease is hold twice every year in the host of Professor Zhou.
