Resume：
Chai Ying had studied in Zhejiang University College of Medicine (formerly Zhejiang Medical University) from 1977 to 1982, and work in the department of thoracic surgery in the Second Affiliated Hospital after graduation. Since 1998, he has served as chief physician, and now he is the director of the department of thoracic surgery, the doctoral supervisor and the vice chairman of faculty board of cardiothoracic surgery in the Medical College of Zhejiang University.
Chai Ying has been engaged in clinical and basic research of thoracic surgery, and won "Best Doctors of Zhejiang Province" and "National Outstanding Young Medical Prize", etc. Chai Ying specializes in the diagnosis and surgical treatment of a variety of thoracic surgical diseases, such as lung cancer, esophageal cancer, mediastinal tumor, thoracic deformity, sternal tumor and chest trauma. He also has the reputation of a variety of less invasive, minimally invasive surgery (Axillary incision surgery and VATS, which Chai Ying pioneered in 1995). Recently, Chai Ying has completed some operations to fill gaps in Zhejiang province, such as biological valve replacement with coronary heart disease, mid-sternum or sternal resection replantation with autologous rib, left ventricular tumor resection without cardiopulmonary bypass, resection of both lungs metastatic tumors in median sternotomy, total laryngectomy and pharyngeal esophageal resection and three-field lymph nodes dissection and anastomosis of gastric and tongue after chest and cervical incision. Chai Ying’s original surgery of Mid-sternum or sternal resection replantation of autologous rib achieved good clinical results, which is domestic leading. Chai Ying has many achievements in surgical and overall treatment of lung cancer and myasthenia gravis, and respect systematic dissection in surgical treatment of lung cancer. Chai Ying had finished a number of provincial scientific research projects, and has a national patent. Chai Ying have also involved in five books writing, such as "Cardiothoracic Surgery Diagnosis", "Modern Clinical Diagnosis and Treatment of Disease Study of All Subject Series" and "Practical Tumor Therapy Guide". Chai Ying has published more than 50 professional articles in domestic and abroad journals, and has got four provincial awards until now.
The Second Affiliated Hospital of Zhejiang University college of Medicine is the largest general hospital in Zhejiang Province, which is the first access to the Third Level 1st Class hospital in Zhejiang Province and got the title of “one of the best 100 national hospitals”. Its history dates back to 1869, and it was founded by the British, and called Guangji Hospital at first. The department of thoracic surgery has 46 beds and independent intensive care unit. The average annual volume of surgery is more than 1200, which is ahead of the other hospitals in Zhejiang province. It also passed the assessment of clinical specialist training base of general thoracic surgery firstly.
