Profile

Dr. Du Chixin was admitted to the Department of Medicine of Zhejiang Medical University in 1985. After five years she graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Medicine. On the strength of her good records she was directly accepted from the First Affiliated Hospital for further study as a postgraduate student of Ophthalmology. During those three years, she had learnt many important courses and received full resident training. She graduated with a Master’s degree in 1993.
In October 1996, she finished the advanced level course on refraction held by Shanghai Eye and ENT Hospital, Shanghai Medical University. In December 1998, she visited the Department of Optometry in Hong Kong Polytechnical University as a academic scholar for one month.
She participated in clinical research work in high myopia. She has focused on refractive treatment including PRK, LASIK, ICL, IOL, OK lens and RGP lens since 1998. She has treated more than ten thousand patients through LASIK or PRK and accumulated abundant experience in myopic treatment and corresponding operative complication. She has published 2 papers about LASIK in the Journal of Refractive Surgery, 13 papers about myopia treatment in the other nucleus journals, and had academic presentation in the meeting of American Cataract and Refractive Surgery three times. From1996 to 2007, she worked in the department of Ophthalmology of the First Affiliated Hospital, College of Medicine, Zhejiang University from an attending doctor, an associate professor and her present position as chief.
She plans to concentrate on basic research work in corneal wound healing after refractive surgeries.
