hiking-by DingXianting.
I have never imagined to climb such a high mountain in my life.....

Today is the hiking day held by Dr. Sun. Each year , at this time, people in this program would go hiking. I have hiked several times in Hangzhou. I think it a lot of fun to do that. But this time, it is a miserable experience.

You know what, there was few trees or grass on the mountain.

We keep hiking for 4~5 hours up the mountain. Everybody was going to die on the road. Actually, there was no clear road there. It was full of tiny stones and dust. The sunshine was far beyond strong, and I could hardly bear it!

Till now, I feel painful all over. Big bear mountain is the highest mountain I have ever climbed(about 10064 feet high). I think I may not try this in recent few years.

Good experience, nice job, Ding!.

August 27, the whole day, hiking on the Mt. San Antonio(Old Baldy)--10064' in Angeles National Forest

We started at 9:00AM and soon divided into two groups.

At about 4:00PM, we reached peak--Mt. San Antonio(Old Baldy).

How to say~I thought it would not be very tough for I have the experience climbing Yellow Mountain! However, when I came down and moved step by step in the dark night, following the whole group, I realized that it's not quite easy--I was quite tired.

We began our trek at 9:00 in the morning, and at the beginning I followed the last group. Because my original strategy is to keep in the back and help sb. who is not good at climbing, and then after we gather at 12:30, I can follow the first group:) However, we(the last group) missed the way and waste some time. On the way up, some people were a bit slow so we need to help lift their bags and reduce their weight--actually my bag was quite heavy!
The way up was not very boring and tough, because we could talk and rest every a few minutes:). After reaching the first peak, Chancy Cao and Yang Zhili were too tired to move on, so Dr. Ren asked someone to guide them down. Then we could speed up and move forward to the final peak!
The scene along the path is really very beautiful. Although some places are bald, there is some kind beauty of spectacularity. Of course, we took a lot of pictures during hiking~

At 4:00pm, all of us got to the final peak. It was said that the first group reached at 2:45pm--that's quite early and they're waiting for us over one hour:) Actually, the peak is just so so, we didn't have enough time to enjoy it. I don't know why I joined the last group again this time--maybe we were climbing up together:) We walked quite slow I think!
So we had to keep walking after sunset. It was very dark in the forest. Fortunately, Dr. Ren got a good preparation for us. Couple Tong guided us in the front and we had several flash light to point the way~~Moving in the dark forest was quite tedious and boring; the steps should be slow while you were extremely exhausted, I felt quite tired at that time. Anyway, we got out at last and Teacher Cao and other people were waiting for us:)

There should be something written down and memorized. Hiking was elaborately organized by Dr. Ren. Someone said Dr. Ren can observe people's personality during hiking. Actually for me, it is good chance to communicate with Dr. Ren, for he was the last in the group to protect us:)
Although it is quite tough to hike, especially in such hot dry weather, almost everyone could reach the peak. It shows we are indeed a very strong and united group! During hiking, I was always wondering what I could get from this hiking experience.Besides annealing the will and training your body, there is another thing we can get.
We are hike in order to discover the world!
There are many kinds of undiscovered fields waiting for us to explore. We are the warriors to be the explorers! During hiking, you will problably confront many unknown problems and you should think about it and try to figure it out! That's the same way to do research!
Find what you are fond of and just go into it, think and solve independently by using your courage and intelligence to explore in the unkown field!
