A day on beach

这里的海很美，
是我梦想过的海，
蓝色，无边无际。

尤是夕阳西下时，

召唤着我再次来到她的身边了，

我愿意一直留在那里，
任由海水抚触我的脚丫，

让我能能够感觉来自太平洋对岸的气息
捎来思念，与牵挂。

Beauty of the Beach

Venice Beach :

Born in a town surrounded by endless hills, it’s my childhood dream to see the world outside. Coming to the USA has already fulfilled my dream, I feel very lucky that in these short 10 weeks I can do so many things that I’ve never done in my life before. The first plane I take have already send me to the USA, and I’ve never dreamed that the first beach I see is the most beautiful and famous beach along the Pacific Ocean.

Since everyone I met in the UCLA suggested me to go to the beach with one voice, we selected the Venice Beach as our first destination. After taking the brunch, we took No.1 Big Blue Bus from the starting stop to the terminal stop. After crossing a street and walking a short distance, suddenly I found the view became quite extensive. Here came the Venice Beach, and the Pacific Ocean was under my very nose. I was so excited that I took off my shoes and rushed at it in the speed of 100 meter race. The sand was quite hot in the sunshine, but I didn’t care about it. I rushed ahead till the cool and refreshing seawater immersed my feet and then my knee. The wave surged to the beach continuously, spoondrift changed from huge to small towards the coast, and finally disappeared in the sand as small bubbles. I closed my eyes, extended my arms. Feeling the sea breeze kissing my face and dancing with my hair, I thought I was in the paradise. Cheers burst out from all buddies, and it also woke me up. I opened my eyes, looking at the very lines melted by the sky and the ocean, thinking that maybe my parents or friends were looking in this direction and our lines of sight could meet.

Looking ahead, I found there are a lot of people swimming in the nearby area, surfing across the huge waves, sailing in this beautiful ocean, just like the scene I saw in TV. In the shallow area, waves continuously hit body which could stimulate great happiness, shouting and laughing burst out one after another, people were all enjoying the great fun. A lot of sea-gull flying in the blue sky, and if they got tired, they would walk on the sand without any afraid of human beings. There were so many people playing sand in the sand beach. Some were building castles or lovely animals, some even covered their whole body with sand. A lot of people were enjoying the sun bath and hoped that they could have a beautiful and healthy brown skin. Countless beauties in bikini walked back and forth, which comprised the important scene of the beautiful beach. Some of the buddies even took off their clothes, dived into sea water and swam in the ocean. It was so cool!

Time was limited! After taking a lot of pictures and recording some of the happy moment, we returned to the bank and decided to go shopping along the beach. There were a lot small shops and stalls selling decorations, T-shirts, hats, and other souvenirs. Of course, most of them were made in China and the price was much higher than usual price. We also found Chinese massage there. There was no doubt that Los Angeles has more Chinese people than other American cities. A lot of street-actors were performing along the street, the most memorable one was a handsome man playing guitar, the music was so pretty that we even recorded the whole song. On the other side of the street, there were a lot of men playing street basketball, their skills was so sophisticated that it seemed like a normal match rather than a game. We also found there were some people drawing pictures on the wall. After talking to one guy, we were told that today was his birthday, and he was quite happy to see some Chinese friends. Before we left, he gave us a lot of beautiful pictures drawn by himself, it became the best souvenir to me in this beach trip. I was so lucky that I even took a picture with the beach policeman. Haha!

After spending 4 happy hours in Venice Beach, we set out to Santa Monica Beach.

Third Street :

Third Street is the most famous shopping street near the Santa Monica Beach. There are a lot of stores on the street selling clothes, decorations, and cosmetics. After promising to gather at 6 o’clock, we dismissed to go shopping in small groups.

A lot of stores were on sale in the summer period, but the price was still very high and even scared me to come in. Fortunately, we found a store where the price was acceptable, so we each bought some clothes there.

One the other side of the street, there are a large shopping mall called Santa Monica Place. It has 3 floors. Unlike the shopping mall in Hangzhou, such as Yintai, the mall in Los Angeles has a lot of independent and unattached rooms for each brand. This mall contains the most famous brand in the world, and of course the price is absolutely high. But it was still very happy to see so many famous brands.

The gathering time came so fast, we had to leave the Third Street and went to Santa Monica Beach which has different style to Venice Beach.

Santa Monica Beach :

Santa Monica Beach is more popular than Venice Beach among American, there are so many people playing there that the scene is ideally combined by nature and human beings.

The most difference between Santa Monica Beach and Venice Beach is that the former has a bridge for entertainment and sightseeing. The bridge is almost 200 meters long. Walking on the bridge, I found it is an amusement park for children and adolescents. It had a lot of game for children to win toys, it also has Sun Wheel, Boomer, High-speed Coaster for people who want adventure. Just like a mini-Adventure Park. Of course, a lot of stall-keepers were selling hats, clothes, and other souvenirs. Don’t forget the street-actors, they played pleasant music, drew beautiful pictures and portraits, and they also wrote your name on a rice. The end of bridge is built upon the deep seawater, it is the furthest sea area you can reach on foot. A lot of people were fishing at the end of the bridge, and the results were quite fruitful. Leaning on the handrail, seeing that the blue seawater flow below my foot and feeling the sea breeze touch my face, I found all the worries and unhappiness disappeared at the very moment.

The sand beach of Santa Monica is wider than Venice Beach, I felt as if I was walking in the desert. Again, we rushed into the embrace of the ocean. After playing for quite a long time, the sun began to go down the horizontal, and the dusk was coming. It is the most beautiful scene I had ever seen in my life, I still remember clearly the very moment that the sun dropped off and the dark dominated the world. How beautiful it is!

The day of beach was finished by a flash of camera which recorded this happiest moment, but I will never forget this day since it fills up my life and makes it more complete.

海滨寻梦

Venice 海滩：

我出生在一个四面环山的小镇，从小就向往去看看山外面的世界。来到美国已经实现了我的梦想，在这短短的 10 周时间内我体验了许多以前没有体验过的事情。第一次坐的飞机就把我送到了美国，我从没想过第一次看到的海居然就是太平洋。

在 UCLA 碰到的每个人都异口同声地建议我们去海滩玩玩，所以我们决定将 Venice 海滩作为我们的第一站。吃过早午饭后，我们乘坐 1 号 Big Blue Bus 一直从起点站坐到终点站。下车后穿过马路走了一段很近的距离，视野突然间变得很开阔。 Venice 海滩到了，太平洋就在我的眼前。我非常兴奋，脱了鞋子以百米跑的速度冲到了海边，顾不上烫脚的沙子。我一直往前冲，直到清凉的海水淹没了我的脚及膝盖。海浪不停地拍击着海岸，浪花从远到近由大到小地往海岸上涌，最后化为小小的泡沫消失在沙滩上。我闭上眼睛，伸开双臂，感觉到海风一边在亲吻我得脸，一边在与我的头发共舞，我想我是不是到了天堂啦！不远处传来伙伴们的欢呼声，它惊醒了我。我睁开双目，看着远方海天融合而成的一线，心想说不定我的父母或者朋友也在朝这个方向眺望，我们的视线可以在同一时空汇合。

朝前望去，发现有许多人在附近的海域游泳，在巨大的海潮之间冲浪，在美丽的海洋中行帆，跟我在电视上看到的一样。在附近的浅水区，海浪不停地冲击着戏水者的身体，激起了无尽的乐趣，叫喊声此起彼伏，大家都在尽情地享受大海带来的欢乐。许多海鸥在蓝天碧海中滑翔，如果感到疲倦，它们会在沙滩上散步，一点都不怕人类。许多游人在沙滩上玩沙子，有些在建城堡，有些在造可爱的小动物，有人甚至把整个身子埋在沙子里。还有很多人在晒日光浴，希望将肤色晒成健康漂亮的小麦色。数不尽的美女身穿比基尼泳装在沙滩上散步，这构成了一道美丽的风景线。许多同伴禁不住大海的诱惑，脱掉衣服，就冲进大海的怀抱，在海洋中畅游。实在是太酷了！

时间有限，在拍了很多照片录了很多录像之后，我们回到岸上，去海滩边上的小市场去逛街。那里有很多小店和小摊在出售装饰品、 T 裇衫、帽子以及其他纪念品。当然绝大多数是中国制造，价格也比平常要高。我们还看到一家中国按摩店，怪不得大家说洛杉矶是华人最多的美国城市。有许多街头艺人在街边表演，记忆最深的是一位弹吉他的帅哥，音乐非常动听，我们还特地录了一段录像来纪念。在街的那头，是街头篮球比赛，打球者技术都很高超，看似是挺正规的比赛。我们还发现在海边的墙壁上有艺人在上面涂鸦，过去一问才知道今天是其中一位先生的生日，他们很高兴看到中国来的朋友。临走前，他送了我们很多自己画的图片，这些成为了我此次海滨之旅的最有意义的纪念品。幸运地是我还与海滨的警察一起合影，哈哈！

在 Venice 海滩度过了快乐的 4 个多小时，我们出发去 Santa Monica 海滩。

三街：

三街是 Santa Monica 海滩边最著名的商业街。街上有很多商店出售衣服、装饰品和化妆品。大家约定 6 点钟集合后，就各自散去逛逛。

在暑假有很多商店都在打折，但是价格还是比较高，让人望而却步。幸亏我们后来发现了一家价格还可以接受的，所以每人都有收获。

在街的一头有一家很大的百货商店叫 Santa Monica Place ，它有 3 层楼。跟杭州的百货商店不同，洛杉矶的百货商店都由许多独立的商店组成，基本上每家店都是特定的品牌，当然都是世界上最著名的牌子，价格也高得吓人。但饱饱眼福也是不错的。

集合的时间很快到来了，我们离开三街步行去了与 Venice 海滩风格不同的 Santa Monica 海滩。

Santa Monica 海滩：

Santa Monica 海滩的人气比 Venice 海滩更加旺盛，游人非常之多，且与自然风光完美地结合在一起。

Santa Monica 海滩与 Venice 海滩的最大不同之处在于前者有一座集娱乐与观光于一体的桥。这座桥有近 200 米 长，走到桥上才知道它是一个给儿童和青少年游玩的娱乐公园。它有很多可以赢取玩具的游戏及比赛，也有很多游戏可供喜欢冒险的孩子体验刺激与惊奇，譬如大转盘，“跳楼机”，飞速小火车等等，就像一个小型的 California Adventure Park 。当然桥上少不了小摊贩，他们卖各种纪念品。街头艺人们也在纷纷展示他们的才华，有弹琴的、画画的、还有的可以把你的名字写在一粒米上。桥尾已经是建立在很深的海水之上了，那里是 Santa Monica 海滩上你步行能见到的最深的海域，很多人在桥尾钓鱼，而且收获颇丰。倚栏远眺，看着碧蓝的海水在脚下流动，感受着海风拂面而过，所有的忧愁烦恼都消失殆尽了。

Santa Monica 的沙滩比 Venice 沙滩要宽广，在沙滩上行走时有种沙漠的错觉。我们再一次地冲向了大海的怀抱。玩了很久之后太阳开始落下海平面，黑夜即将来临。这是我至今所见过的最美的景色。至今我还清楚地记得太阳落下海平面，大地被黑暗笼罩的那个时刻。
