Fan Shunwu, male, born in March, 1963. Mediccal Doctor, Professor, Attending, Tutor of MD & Ph.D, Director of Ortropaedics in Sir Run Run Shaw Hospital of Zhejiang University, Administrative commissioner of Orthopaedics Associationin in Zhejiang Province of Chinese Medical Commission, Vice director of Center of Orthopaedics Quanlity Control in Zhejiang Province. Vice director commissioner of Commission of injury of spine and spinal cord in Zhejiang Province of Chinese Recovery Association. Vice director commissioner of special Commission of osteal and parenchyma tumor of anti-cancer Association in Zhejiang Province.
He has devoted to clinical practition and research work in the field of Orthopaedics for more than two decades, and in rescent years, published over eighty papers about research for lumbarcrural pain and osteal tumor in journals from both home and abroad include “SPINE” and “European Spine Journal ”. He had aquired the first class prize of youth excellent paper of Chinese Journal of Orthopaedics in the year 1999-2000, and the first class prize of progress prize in science and technology granted by the science and technology department of Zhejiang province in 2009. Series work about lumbarcrural pain and osteal tumor had aquired provincial departmental reward of Science and Technology development for several times.
He has been practicing in the clinical and basic research of spinal surgery and osteal tumor at present, and is especially good at operation for lumbarcrural pain, cervical spondylosis and spinal tumor. He has taken the lead in the practice of discography and selective block functional diagosis of discogenic low back pain and syndrome of intervertebral foraminal stenosis, and this new technic has greatly improved diagnostic rate of lumbarsacrum pain; the total knee/hip replacement that synchronized with the international has dramatically reduced the complications such as dislocation of the artificial joint and motion difficulty postoperation. The minimal invasive one-level posterior lumbar interbody fusion has reduced the injury of operation; the operation time has been reduced by the improved technic of opration of anterior and posterior approach for thoracic and lumbar vertebrae. The technic, “First distraction, then reduction”, which was invented by him, has obviously improved the rate of reduction and fusion for the treatment of lumbar spondylolisthesis and is accepted and applied over national wide. And the surgical skills of anterior spine procedure as well as posterior lumbar interbody fusion were both published as “Instructional Course Lectures” on “CHINESE JOURNAL OF ORTHOPAEDICS”.
